

Kuruk advised Aang to actively shape his destiny, and disappeared before the audience could learn more about him. During that conversation, Kuruk revealed that he was an easygoing Avatar who lived in a prosperous time, but that his carefree inaction eventually led to the loss of his wife at the hands of the evil spirit Koh. Most of it from the original series came during Aang's conversation with many of his past lives in the buildup to his showdown with Ozai.

Prior to the novels, the canon contained few details about Kuruk's life.
